The music industry can be very rewarding and caress the ego, especially for those who are in the center of the mainstream. Still, on the other hand, it can be very frustrating, especially for famous people and celebrities who experience exploitation, especially after the large sums arrive, from which they get crumbs — and sometimes even crumbs are too much.

If you ask Wyclef Jean from the Fugees band, he will tell you that the song Killing Me Softly, which he performed in a new version with the band members, earned 8 million dollars — but they didn’t share the cake and got the crumbs.

Rights to the song were attributed to the original songwriter, Lori Lieberman, who wrote the original version in 1972 and recorded her version when she was 19 as a song included in the first album she released.
